Aluminum Handrails

Aluminum handrails are used in schools, offices, businesses, industrial, water and wastewater treatment facilities, as well as other applications. We ensure our handrails meet all applicable local and national safety code requirements. At Imperial Metal Company, our experienced professionals can handle all of your handrail needs.

We offer both welded and non-welded aluminum component handrail options.

All finished handrails are made to fit your project’s needs. Finish options include satin lacquer, anodized, powder-coated, and Kynar finishes in a wide range of colors.

Aluminum IMCO Rails

Aluminum IMCO rails differ from standard aluminum railing, because they are mechanically fastened together and not welded. The railing is fabricated and shipped in 20’-0” (or less) sections with shop attached kick plate, base shoes, brackets, and grabrails. This process produces a fully functional railing that is both structurally sound and economical, while still maintaining the ease of installation of standard welded railing. The primary use for this mechanical-type railing is in the Industrial and Water/Wastewater sectors where functionality is prioritized over high-cost aesthetics. The railing can be constructed in various ways with several mounting and installation configurations, finish options including either an AAMA Class I or II clear anodized coating, and grade 304 (or optional 316) stainless steel fasteners. Imperial Metal Company has used its many years of railing experience to meticulously design and engineer this system to comply with applicable codes and various project specifications.

Stainless Handrails

Imperial Metal Company is a custom stainless handrails fabricator in St. Louis. Stainless handrails can be used in schools, offices, businesses, industrial, medical, food production, as well as various other applications. Our stainless handrails are available in 304 or 316 alloy which makes this type of handrail highly resistance to staining and corrosion, providing a high-quality product.

We offer multiple finish options for our stainless handrails, including mill finish, brushed satin (#4 or #6), glass bead blast, and #8 mirror finish.

Ornamental Metals

Ornamental metals are decorative elements commonly used in handrailing, gates, fences, etc. These products are typically made of wrought iron, stainless steel, aluminum, or brass/bronze. Ornamental metals can create an architecturally aesthetic look for any project.

The creative possibilities of ornamental metals are virtually endless. They are used to upgrade the look of a structure i.e. entranceway, stairway, lobby, or any other creative space to yield that unique appearance to set your space apart from others.

Custom designs can be applied in many styles — sleek stainless cable infill railing, contemporary glass and stainless-steel railing systems, ornate forged wrought iron railing, cast scrollwork handrails and gates, and much more.

Structural Steel

Imperial Metal Company provides fabrication and structural steel supply for all types of steel construction in many different market sectors. The company’s focus and niche are on more complicated small to medium size structural packages for buildings up to 300 tons and 80,000 sq. ft. Products and services that can be provided, but not limited to, are anchor bolts, embeds, lintels, columns, beams, joist, deck, and subcontract erection services.

Over the years, Imperial has completed structural steel projects with a range of finishes; mill, prime painted, galvanized, powder coated, specialty coatings for toxic environments, and high-performance paint systems. Whether your project is challenging or simple, IMC has seen it before and has the knowledge, capabilities, and processes to get it done.

Miscellaneous Steel

Miscellaneous metals consist of a broad range of components that are not related to the building structure. These items include, but are not limited to, ladders, lintels, roof top equipment support frames, bollards, sill angles, CMU seismic clips, partition supports, gates, etc. While the structure is integral, miscellaneous metals are a necessary element in many building projects. They can be produced from steel, stainless steel, or aluminum and can be coated based on the project requirements. Imperial Metal Company is consistently working on some aspect of material that falls into this category.
